This event is always exciting. In a few short hours we sell hundreds of rootstocks, give away thousands of scions, graft untold numbers of trees, complete our Make-a-tree orders, and help lots of folks launch into the pleasure of growing good fruit at home.

Please make a special note on your calendars - this special event is on a Sunday rather than the traditional Saturday - we have changed the date due to the horrible parking issues at our last couple of events. The parking should be much easier on Sunday, as we won't have to share the parking lot with the 4H swap meet!

Come to the Fruit Propagation Fair for:

Scions - Hundreds of varieties of apples and pears available as scions for grafting, as well as a smattering of cherry, plum, persimmon and peach varieties too. These are the building blocks of your new orchard, and are free with your entrance fee! Bring a plastic sack, roll of masking tape, and a black sharpie marker for labeling!

Rootstock Sales - Rootstocks will be available for apple, pear, cherry, stone fruit and persimmon. Various sizes, from super dwarfing to semi-dwarf, just right for your yard, can be purchased.

Plant Sale - The HOS plant sale is a fundraiser for the organization, and is usually a great spot to find berry starts, grafted fruit trees, perennials and more that HOS members have divided and donated to our cause. Be sure to check it out to see what surprise specials are available from our members!

Information - Knowledgeable HOS members will be manning the Information Table to help you with questions and discuss the challenges your orchard might be facing.

Make-A-Tree - This is the date to pick up your grafted Make-a-tree that many of you ordered at the All About Fruit Show in October. Be sure to put it on your calendar. You do not have to pay to enter the event in order to pick up your tree. If you know in advance that you (or a friend) can't pick up your tree at this event, contact Joanie Cooper to make other arrangements: pomonascion AT gmail.com

Custom Grafting - If you aren't a grafter, but still want to take advantage of the incredible varieties available at the Fruit Propagation Fair, use our HOS custom grafting service! Once you have selected your scions and purchased rootstocks, bring them to the grafters, and for a small fee, they will build your trees for you. Due to the popularity of this service, please limit yourself to 3 trees per session (you can get in line again if you need more grafted).

Mason Bee Supplies - Empty mason bees tubes will be available for sale at the HOS Arboretum table, but preorder your bees prior to this event due to limited supplies. Contact our new Arboretum manager, Tonia Lordy via email for more information about HOS Mason Bee sales: masonbees@homeorchardsociety.org

Publications - Check out the incredible selection of how-to books available on gardening, orchards, cooking, cider making, and more!

Volunteering - Volunteers are always needed, especially for set-up on Saturday the 16th. Contact our volunteer coordinator, Olinka Morrill, to get signed up: veisslovenka AT aol.com
