Fruit Tree Short Course

1:00 to 3:50 p.m. Fridays, January 8 through February 5 in Clairmont room 133 at Clackamas Community College

Tree fruit recommendations for the Willamette Valley will be presented. Orchard bloom time, pruning, training tree fruit insects and diseases, asexual propagation, harvesting, storage and uses of tree fruit will be discussed. Tuition & fees: $87.00. 1 credit.

HOS Pruning Workshop

9:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Saturday, February 6, at the HOS Arboretum

Demonstration and practice of pruning methods appropriate for a variety of fruit trees. Bring your pruning tools and appropriate outdoor wear. HOS Fruit Tree Grafting Workshops

Saturday, February 20, in Clairmont room 118 at Clackamas Community College

9:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m - Beginning
10:45 a.m. to 12:05 p.m - Beginning
12:45 p.m. to 2:05 p.m - Intermediate

Hands-on explanation and practice in whip grafting of fruit trees under the supervision of experienced HOS grafters. You will be provided with a rootstock and scion wood. Please bring your straight edged knife. Intermediate session covers more advanced grafting methods: cleft, kerf, bark, inarching etc. Co-sponsored with Clackamas Community College.
