Arboretum manager, Tonia Lordy, will discuss and demonstrate the why’s and how’s of summer pruning in this 10 hour 2 part intensive class.
We will cover:
tools, sanitation, safety, pruning terminology, fruiting wood identification, types of pruning cuts, and summer vs dormant season pruning
The species we will over include:
grapes, kiwi, cherries, plums, apple, European and Asian pears, and we’ll talk a bit about figs
This is a very hands on guided type class. The class size is very limited to allow each student individualized instruction and one on one time with Tonia.
