 Coconut Crunch Apple Description?
Can anyone provide a description for the apple variety Coconut Crunch, such as ripening time, physical description?

Coconut Crunch was bred by Garfield Shults of Homedale, ID. It's an extremely solid apple that ripens fairly late, though it's hard to tell when it's ripe because you don't use it until it has been in storage a while. I've seen it keep for a full year in ordinary cold storage. It's a yellow apple and the specimens I've had from Mr. Shults actually had a texture like a chunk of coconut. Mild, but interesting flavor, though my own grafts of it never seem to taste the same as his.

Thanks Lon. I guess we'll see if a hot climate helps or hurts it. Mine should fruit next spring, and I wasn't sure what to expect.
