I have a lot of blackberries brushes and was wondering on the canes that are blooming this year do I cut them down at the end of the season? Don't they just bloom one year?

yes, they fruit just one year per cane.

It depends on the blackberry. Usually you get the most berries on second year growth. You cut the second year growth after picking the berries.

If you see blossums, you should have berries there.

Blackberries have 2 types of canes Primacanes and Floracanes the first year (Primacanes) canes don't do anything but put on leaves. The second year (Floracanes) put on side shoots and flowers that will produce fruit. After the Floracanes are finished they die. Most growers remove the spent Floracanes right after harvest.

There are two types of blackberry pruning you should be doing and each must be done at different season.
In the spring, you will be tip pruning blackberry bushes. In late summer, you will be doing clean up blackberry pruning.
