Re: Condo Dwelling Fruit Planting
Yes, you can.....many fruit trees can be grown in containers. http://www.midcitynursery.com/fruits/containers.htm
I personally am starting to experiment with apples on dwarfing root stock and growing in a container in my back yard.
Containers need special soil, special watering and special care.
However, in my opinion, container gardening is the wave of the future for city dwellers. Why? Not just for reduced space....but because for those of us troubled by the latest pest, all you need to do is put a net over the tree after pollination time (or a couple weeks before harvest, depending on the fruit)......and you solve the problem of keeping the fly, moth, or pest away from your fruit....and this can be done easily with container fruit.
