This plum tree was very small...pencil sized scion...one bud grew last year. It has only one bud on the new growth. The tree is floppy. Raintree has a 1 yr guarantee. I feel this tree will never grow properly. Did They grafted a poor scion to the root?. Has any one had a similiar problem?Pat Lundsteen

Plum trees do grow slowly, but I would contact them. I would think that they would be honest with you. It does sound like it's growing unusually slowly. Be prepared to describe the conditions you grew them in.

The last two times I have bought from Raintree, I have been VERY disappointed in the size strength of the plants. I don't think I will buy there again. It is a shame as they do carry many varieties that are difficult to find. Dead... expensive hard to find varieties are not all that valuable to me. They did promptly replace the ones that never showed any sign of life... but two of those were so small/weak they died also. Just gave up. Years ago...quality was better.
