Is the common pawpaw a worthwhile fruit? A friend of mine says I should try it and I've tracked down a nursery in France that sells it bare root.

It is my favorite fruit. It's delicious, and nutritious. Tough to buy, easy to grow.
Yes.

Thanks John. It's the same nursery that sells the Loquats so I'll get some.

Just one thing bothering me, I just found this:

http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/pawpaw.html

"The pawpaw needs regular watering during the growing season. The soil should be kept moist but avoid waterlogging. "

I hadn't intended to irrigate, we had pretty much no rainfall from June to end August last year, is it worth proceeding if I can't irrigate?
