Hello,

I'd like to grow plum, apple, and cherry maybe pear trees in our yard in SW Portland and I need some education. Does anyone know of a really good book that would be helpful?

There are a lot of them at the library. Most of the best new ones get checked out a lot. There was a new one I liked by some French guys, The title was something like growing fruit trees. i 'm sure if you do a search you'll find it. Then you can decide which one to buy. Sunset Garden book is more of a landscaping book with some fruit. It has a lot of info though.

I like [The Holistic Orchard by Michael Phillips, you can find it on Amazon. It emphasizes growing fruit the natural or biological way. I like it, but yes especially if you don't want to spend money, libraries and online resources are great!

My favorite book is "The Backyard Orchardist: A Complete Guide to Growing Fruit Trees in the Home Garden"
