Is she still growing somewhere?
In mine opinion this is the best tasting cherry I've ever tasted : Starkrimson. I bought it about twenty five years ago. I’m not sure but it’s a cross between Garden Bing X Stella. Origin : USA
My search for some background information is a setback. In this part of the world ‘Europe’ no one seems to have ever heard about it.
Compared with the ‘newer’ varieties of cherries as there are: Regina, Skeena, Lapins, Stella arrive at approximately the same level
To give an indication, I will describe the specifications of this type of cherry.
At first glance you would think it is a Crimson Craig, I hope I will offend anyone by that.
Characterized by its semi-dwarf size, self fertility and being a regular and productive bearer of medium to large size fruit with an attractive dark crimson red skin color and having good flavor and eating quality.

Fruit: Large, firm, heart-shaped crimson red fruit.
Stone size: very small. (remarkable)

With the aim to preserve this variety from extinction a few years ago I created through chip budding on a GM9 (Inmil) very dwarf rootstock a new tree.

So, if anyone is familiar with this delicious cherry and you have some experiences with this, I would appreciate very much all your knowledge and information.

Welcome Netherlands! Here’s from one of my “Stark Bro’s” Spring 1999 mail order catalogs, I’ve saved fruit catalogs for years… never knowing if they might some day be of interest:

That’s straight from their catalog, minus some salivating descriptions, nearly as attractive as your pics! Stark Bro’s, since 1816 has patented their own trees. I have several; good varieties, but not legally propagated by anyone else. …I’m not sure if they’re still in business, though a quick search could confirm that. Honestly, due to their incessant patenting of nearly everything, many within our Society have boycotted their cultivars… I didn’t, I was still a Newby!

Glad to see they’re still in business ...thought someone told me they’d gone bankrupt a few years back… And their cherry’s only gone up $5 in a decade (not counting shipping).
