Our 2011/2012 Mason Bee & Supplies season is now open.
As of Jan 3rd, 2012 we have a few more full bee tubes for sale (this is a change from our previous status: SOLD OUT). We have received more full tubes from our sources, however due to our still very limited supply - we have 6" full bee tubes available for sale for local pick only - NO MAIL ORDER SALES FOR FULL TUBES.
If you are able to come to the HOS Arboretum on a Tues or Sat between 9am-3pm, you may still purchase the max of 15, 6" tubes. Do call ahead, 503-338-8479, within these same open hours to ensure we still have bees before you make the trip.
PLEASE NOTE: this was a VERY tough spring for mason bees here in Oregon, and as a result we have had a very small number of full bee tubes. My apologies if you missed the chance to purchase them through the mail. They are living creatures who have been negatively impacted by our shifting climate/seasons. You can help our struggling pollinators by putting out empty tubes, see below...
UPDATE: Empty Bee Tubes
We still have PLENTY OF EMPTY BEE TUBES FOR SALE FOR BOTH MAIL AND LOCAL PICK UP ORDERS - print out and mail in your order form and check as soon as possible. All orders will be filled on a first received-first filled basis while supplies last.
Remember, you don't need to rely on full tubes to get your mason bee population going/growing...by providing ample nesting space you invite wandering female mason bees to lay their eggs at your site, so stock up and set out plenty of empty tubes! There is no limit to the number of empty tubes an individual can order.
Below you will find a mason bee general care flyer and this season's order form. Thanks for supporting the Home Orchard Society and your local pollinator population!
