It's not too Late to Make Your Favorite Apple Tree
The Home Orchard Society presents its' free summer budding workshop at 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday August 7, at the HOS Arboretum, located in the northwest corner of the Clackamas Community College campus.
Budding is a technique orchardist use during the summer growing season to graft varieties of your favorite fruit to new or existing rootstock. At this workshop you will learn budding techniques under the guidance of Home Orchard Society members. If you want, you can make your own tree or HOS will do it for you.
Rootstocks will be for sale; however, there is no charge for the Arboretum's bud wood. Bring a sharp knife.

In the afternoon, there will be a tour of the HOS Arboretum and a demonstration of summer pruning technique to maintain the size of your fruit trees.
